Joseph Ricca is Superintendent of Schools at East Hanover Board of Education, a position he has held since 2009. Dr. Ricca is an expert in the fields of academic achievement, character education, instructional technologies, professional evaluation, community relations and curriculum development. As superintendent of schools, Dr. Ricca has worked to create and support the highest quality educational organization while maintaining tremendous fiscal responsibility and transparency. Under the leadership of Dr. Ricca, the East Hanover Township Public School District has implemented novel instructional and child-centered programming while regularly maintaining a strong and healthy bottom line. Dr. Ricca started his career as a history teacher. He has served as an assistant principal and principal as well as a superintendent of schools/chief educational officer. Dr. Ricca earned his BS from Seton Hall University, his MEd from Harvard University, his MA from Caldwell College and his EdD from Walden University. He is a member of the New Jersey Council of Education, ASCD, NJASA and AASA to name a few professional organizations. Dr. Ricca was named a Dodge Fellow in 2009 and has been honored to serve in a number of consulting positions in the public, private and government sectors.
