Many districts have turned to renewable energy projects as a cost savings option. The vast majority of these projects involve power purchase agreements or district owned and financed photovoltaic systems. The presenters will discuss their experiences with renewable energy procurement, and answer audience questions on the subject. Items to discuss include: 1) how the drop in the SREC market impacts current and future projects, 2) issues to consider in the development of RFPs and project specifications, 3) roof and maintenance issues, 4) joint solar projects with other districts or governmental entities, and 5) available procurement methods.
During this session, we will provide information regarding the process for analyzing the student data and making the determination on the greatest needs of the students and the programs that would benefit these students and could be created in-district.
